Hi, I am RoseMary.
I am CCHTX’s newest adult and adolescent therapist. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Houston, TX providing virtual counseling to individuals and families in Texas. I am very excited to be one of CCHTX’s newest team members, but I’m most excited to work with YOU!
My Story.
While the quickest way to get from point A to B is a straight line, my journey to becoming a counselor looks more like back-and-forth squiggles and loops. I was born in Kansas where my father, who was in the U.S. Army, was stationed at the time, but I actually grew up in Texas. I’ve lived in the Houston area for 30 years and my community is so important to me! I married my high school sweetheart and became the proud momma to my two amazing daughters. Even though I already had a lot on my plate with being a new wife and mom, my innate drive and passion for learning led me to enroll at the University of Houston Downtown, where I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Psychology. While I pursued my undergrad I worked full-time as a legal secretary at McGinnis Lochridge in Houston. Even though I was doing this all while raising my daughters and being a dedicated wife and caretaker, I eventually got the itch to get back in the classroom. All of the personal and professional hats I was wearing—mother, wife, caretaker and 30 years of experience in the legal field—inspired me and led me to discover my enthusiasm for learning, doing research, and helping others. So, in 2019, I went back to graduate school, while continuing to work full-time at Watt Thompson & Henneman LLP (fka Watt Beckworth), and received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston Clear Lake. Today I am proud to officially be able to call myself a practicing licensed professional counselor (LPC-Associate supervised by April West, LPC-S) at Curious Conversations HTX.
In Therapy.
My specific area of therapeutic focus is supporting teens ages 14-19 (plus their families), as well as high-functioning young to middle adults ages 20-55, who struggle with depression and anxiety, feel stuck or disconnected from themselves and others, and want to improve their habits and achieve life-long personal goals. My years of experience raising my daughters and granddaughters has given me valuable insight on how to navigate the challenging toddler and teen years. If you could interview my previous clients and those close to me, they would describe me as kind, laid back, and extremely passionate about supporting others, which I believe are a few of the things that make me a great counselor. Your counseling sessions with me will incorporate a variety of research based clinical and collaborative approaches, including CBT, ACT, and Mindfulness, to help you rediscover the awesome person you already are, in order to improve your daily life. My therapy style is warm, collaborative, down to earth, cognitive based and solution focused. I’m confident that I can sit alongside you in your journey, while teaching you specific skills to help you cope with whatever life may be throwing your way. If you are ready to get in touch with the best YOU, submit an inquiry below to schedule an appointment with me.

More about me.
My husband and I enjoy trying new restaurants around Houston. Some of my favorite restaurants include Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, Saltgrass, and mom and pop Mexican spots. The beef fajitas and charro beans are my go to at Casa Vaqueros. Mmm! I also love the onion strings at Salt Grass. I thoroughly enjoy traveling with my husband, daughters, and grandchildren. One of my favorite places to visit is Diamond Head, Hawaii because of its scenic views, peacefulness, and deep blue water. On weekends you can find me spending time with my hubby at a local venue listening to a live band, or watching movies, documentaries, or a tv series. The final season of Ozark left me wanting more. If I’m not spending time with my hubby and family, you can bet I am spending time with my closest friends or with my head in the latest suspense novel.
